Woman Hides From Police Under Clothes Basket: Cartersville Crime

A woman hides from police under a clothes basket and a man drives his car on a golf course in Cartersville crime recently.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The Cartersville Police Department provided the following information about recent incidents in the city. Arrests do not equal convictions.

According to police reports:

  • A 46-year-old man was arrested May 18 and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, resisting willful obstruction of law enforcement officers and possession and use of drug related objects. Officers arrived at a home on North Bartow Street to locate a woman with outstanding warrants for her arrest. An officer went to the back door and saw the woman and told her to show her hands. She took off running back into the home. The home was searched, and she was found lying under a clothes basket and clothes in the rear bedroom. During the search of the home, officers located methamphetamine, three digital scales (commonly used to weigh drugs) in the kitchen cabinet and counterfeit money in a bag on the kitchen floor. Methamphetamine baggies were weighed at the Cartersville Police Department totaling 8.8 gram.
  • A 68-year-old man was arrested May 18 for driving with a revoked drivers license from multiple suspensions.
  • A 17-year-old man was arrested May 17 and charged with criminal trespass-trespass on property; concealing identity of a vehicle and criminal damage to property - business. An officer went to 256 Summit Ridge Drive, Woodland Hills Golf Club to investigate a trespass in progress. The officer was told the driver of a silver Honda Pilot had driven all over the golf course causing damage. The damage to the golf course would cost approximately $2,000 to repair.
  • A 22-year-old man was arrested May 18 and charged with driving without a valid license and open container violation beer/ale/porter/stout/other similar beverages.
