The current exhibition at Hammonds House, Homecoming: African American Family History in Georgia, can be viewed for free by visitors until March 16th. Homecoming documents and pays homage to the incredible achievements of survival of kinship ties and family pride experienced by black people from slavery to the 1970s.  The full exhibit is depicted by early photographers.

According to Serena Garcia, "up until the 1978 project launching, there had been relatively little self-research by African Americans about their families."  The Homecoming exhibition is on loan by the Auburn Avenue Research Library, now partnering with Hammonds House Museum.

More than 200 free events will be accessible for patrons during 16 days.
