" Know to which you have come from in order to know where you will go in life to thrive in the future."

by C. Henry Adams
For well over ten (10) decades, Atlanta, which is currently located in
Fulton County, Georgia has changed in some form or facet to improve life
as we know it today. Perhaps, the development of the I-285 / I-20 West
Interchange P.I. Number: 0013918 is no different.

But, as my now Ancestors of the Original Collier Heights
would say, regarding the developments of this land seen above in the
image, " Know to which you have come from in order to know where you
will go in life to thrive in the future." (This is the modern

How many people today, could tell you that Martin Luther
King Jr Drive SW which is located within 300 feet of the above US
Federal Intersection - was once named, Gordon Road and that before it
was called that thing, it was called Lick Skillet Road? Whereas, a
Civil War Battle ensued over 150 years ago on it or in its proximity.
How many people could tell you that in 1952, the annexation of Adamsville,
Cascade & Bolton occurred to further enlarge or expand Atlanta,
Georgia?
How many people could tell you that Dwight D. Eisenhower arrived in Atlanta, September 1952 to gather support regarding his campaign for President of the United States and met with Mayor William Berry Hartsfield?
How many people could tell you that these particular streets ( Tribble Lane, Hermer Circle and Kevin Court) of the Kevin Heights Neighborhood of African American Descent near the I-20
West Interchange, located off Linkwood Road raise the children of a
Montford Point US Marine of World War 2, to which was the son of a
Harlem Hell Fighter who served the US Army during World War 1?
Better yet, his neighbors were Tuskegee Airmen of African American Descent who
also raised their children there to say the very least. But, let us not
stop there in learning about the Ancestors, the People, the Lands and
the Environment to which holds an even deeper significance, if one
learns their origins to be better their destiny.
