Local Stonewall Tell Student Competing in the Miss Georgia Pre-Teen Pageant

Miss Alayna Tobo is the daughter of Mr. George and Dr. Robin Tobo, and a 5th grader at Stonewall Tell Elementary School in southwest Atlanta.  The young pre-teenager is excited about competing in the National American Miss Georgia Pre-Teen Pageant to be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia.

The pageant is held for girls’ ages 10 through 12.  The winner of the pageant will receive a 1,000 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses, and air transportation to compete in the national pageant to Disneyland California.

Alayna has already shown that she is a leader and a local superstar. She is involved in Student Council, a member of the Junior BETA Club, recipient of Principal’s Award for academic excellence, and an AAA Safety Patrol.
She is also an active member of Cascade United Methodist Church serving as an Acolyte, a Junior Girl Scout and the children’s choir.

Wait, that is not all!  Alayna earned her Girl Scout Bronze Award in 2012 and a member of the 2012 Grand Champions- 12U Division Welcome All Panther Cheerleading squad. She also enjoys reading, dancing, doing community serve projects to help others, modeling and shopping.

We held a quick Q & A with Alayna and her parents:

1. How excited are you to compete this summer?     
I am extremely excited about competing this summer because this is my first pageant ever. Since I grow up with a family of boys (two brothers), in this pageant it is my time to shine and be a girl.  

2. What do your classmates think? Are they supportive of you?    
My classmates at Stonewall Tell are very proud of me for making it as a State Finalist. Some of them think of as a leader and some of the girls want to be like me and compete in pageants too.     My classmates are very supportive of me. They want me to win since I am their class representative on Student Council and I will be representing in the pageant too.  

3. What will you do if you win?    
If I win I am going to celebrate with my family and friends and the whole state of Georgia as their Queen for 2013. I am going to represent them well at the National Pageant in Disneyland. My technology club teacher, Ms. Artis and I will make a movie about me and  my road to the National American Miss National pageant.

How much hard work has this taken your daughter and you?  Since Alayna received the open call invitation from the National American Miss selection committee, we have been working very hard to keep her grounded in her school work as well as adding pageant preparations to her already tight schedule of Girl Scouts (it's cookie time too!), cheerleading and her community service projects.

What will you do if she wins?  
If Alayna wins first, we are going to have a party to celebrate her State crown and probably I will lose my voice from celebrating like I did when her squad won the Grand Champions this year at the Cheerleading Competition. We are  alright truly proud parents of Alayna and if she wins Georgia we are heading to Disneyland in November to bring home the National Crown.
