Here are the top three stories in Columbus today:
- The Columbus Police Department released surveillance pictures of a man trespassing
onto private property in the 3800 block of Steam Mill Road and then dissembling
an electric meter and service panel. Police think it might be related to several similar incidents that have been reported in the area. CPD asks the public to contact police at 706-570-9644 if they can identify the man or have any information about the incidents. (WTVM 9) - On Saturday, Mar. 11, the Muscogee County Republican Party made history in the county by electing its first female chairman, Carmen Rice. Rice said in June that the State of Georgia Republican Convention is coming to Columbus. (WTVM via Twitter)
- On Mar. 13, the Golden Donut opened its second location in Midtown Columbus! The new location is on 2033 Wynnton Road where Burger King once stood. One resident, Julio Portillo Jr., said, "This matches so well with people going to work in the morning, but also matches well with the people in the character of our neighborhood." (WTVM 9)
