Winston Rec Center shooting pleads not guilty to murder, armed robbery (wrbl.com) — A Columbus man has pleaded not guilty to murder and armed robbery in the fatal shooting at Shirley B. Winston Recreation Center, with a local judge finding probable cause to move the case forward. Detectives say surveillance video shows the suspect bringing in a backpack later used to access a handgun, and he is now being held without bond after extradition from Philadelphia.

Columbus first responders work through holidays to keep community safe (wtvm.com) — Columbus firefighters will spend Christmas Eve on 24-hour shifts, keeping residents safe while many families celebrate at home.
