- On Mar. 31, Jaqueline Crocket and Edward Murray had their first court appearance in Columbus Superior Court regarding a Mar. 1 dog attack. Allegedly Cowboy, Crocket and Murray's "red devil pitbull" dog, attacked Kim Golden of Columbus, causing her to lose a portion of her left leg. Animal Control representatives said Cowboy was one of the most aggressive dogs they have ever dealt with. Attorney Gristina said, "I don’t see any remorse from them when they blame Miss Golden and say she should have exercised more common sense. The dog was chewing on her foot for 2 minutes and 10 seconds... They should not ever be allowed to have that dog, or [in] my opinion, any dog, again." (WRBL)
- Columbus officials are investigating a house fire on the 3700 block of Hamilton Road, near O’Reilly Auto Parts, that occurred on Saturday, Apr. 1. Firefighters were able to put out the fire and, according to officials, the house was vacant at the time of the fire. (WTVM 9)
- A four-bedroom home is for sale on Summerville Road in nearby Phenix City for $295,000! See the latest properties and homes for sale in the Columbus area at the link. (Columbus Patch)
