DQ Grill & Chill Restaurant Opens in Cumming

Suburban Atlanta just got a whole lot sweeter.

American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ), the legacy brand beloved for its mouthwatering meals and tasty treats, recently announced its new DQ Grill & Chill® restaurant opening in Cumming. Conveniently situated at 6520 Rowe Lane, near the happening Lanier Commons Shopping Mall. The restaurant is locally owned and operated by an experienced group of restauranters including Fred Weir, Scott Hux and Tayla Madaris-Kuder.

“We are thrilled to be opening a new Dairy Queen location in Georgia, allowing us to satisfy our current and future customer’s sweet and salty cravings,” said Weir, owner of the location. “As multi-unit operators with Dairy Queen, our goal is to continue seeking growth opportunities within the system as we’ve found such great success at our other locations. We are looking forward to opening our newest location and serving the Cumming community all the classic menu items DQ offers.”

Weir is a seasoned entrepreneur, having established a unique culture that has allowed his success in the restaurant industry. Alongside him, Hux, Vice President of Operation and Madaris-Kuder, Director of Marketing bring a wealth of experience in their perspective roles. With a history of ownership with Queen since 2017, the group owns three other locations in Canton, Holly Springs and Blue Ridge.

A welcoming environment for all, each DQ Grill & Chill location features comfortable booths, large wooden tables, warm lighting and upbeat music. Striking the perfect balance between yesterday and today, the concept modernizes guests’ dining experience by offering made-to-order lunch and dinner options, including Stackburgers™, Chicken Strip Baskets and delicious hot sandwiches DQ fans can also enjoy soft-serve favorites such as cones, sundaes and the signature Blizzard® Treat.

The new DQ Grill & Chill includes about 60 staff members, ranging from crew members to managers. The restaurant and the drive-thru will be open 10 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
