Fire Destroys Home Under Construction

Forsyth County fire officials say they do not believe anyone was inside the home when the fire broke out early Monday morning.

CUMMING, GA -- A Forsyth County home that was nearing completion was destroyed by a fire early Monday morning, according to fire department officials.

Fire crews first received the call about a burning home at 4175 Settlers Grove Road at 4:09 a.m., Deputy Chief Jason Shivers told Patch Monday afternoon. By the time firefighters arrived on the scene, the home was totally involved and was already beginning to collapse.

Shivers said that firefighters assumed a defensive posture and were able to keep the flames from spreading to any nearby structures. Nobody was believed to be inside the home at the time of the fire and Shivers added that fire officials do not expect any casualties to arise as a result of the incident.
