Fitness Program Challenges Residents to Lose Weight

The month-long Forsyth County program allows resolution keepers to take advantage of Cumming's recreation centers.

CUMMING, GA -- Forsyth County Parks and Recreation is offering a fitness program for county residents who want to lose weight and are up for a challenge.

The Get Fit Forsyth program begins on Jan. 19 with a weigh-in and grants participants unlimited access to each of the county’s recreation facilities for one month. The facilities have basketball gyms, walking tracks, cardio/weight rooms and fitness classes, all meant to help residents live healthier lifestyles.

During the program, there will be weekly challenges for participants to tackle, and everyone will get boosts of encouragement along the way.

On Feb. 19, a weigh-out will take place at either the Central Park, Fowler Park or Old Atlanta Park recreation centers and prizes will be awarded to the man and woman who have lost the most weight since the weigh-in.

Each weigh-in and weigh-out session will be held between noon and 1 p.m. or 5 and 6 p.m.

Registration for the challenge is open to anyone over 18 and costs $25 for Forsyth County residents and $30 for non-residents. The activity number for the challenge is 142825-A.
