Staff Report
At their meeting June 19, 2014, the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners proclaimed the fourth week of June 2014 as Amateur Radio Week.
Amateur radio has historically played a significant role in developing world wide radio communications. Forsyth County has more than 450 radio amateurs who continuously demonstrate their value in public assistance.
“Radio amateurs are on alert for tornadoes, floods, or any other local emergency and utilize their communications skills to assist city, county or state officials,” said District 5 Commissioner Jim Boff in a statement.
