Forsyth County Recognizes 'National Moment of Remembrance' on 9/11
Take a moment on Sunday at 1 p.m., to remember those who died, heroically served and sacrificed on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
Forsyth County will remember the anniversary of the World Trade Center terrorist attacks with one minute of remembrance.
At 1 p.m. on Sept. 11, the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners (BOC) encourages the observance of the moment by ceasing all work or other activity (to maximum extent practicable); and by marking the moment in an appropriate manner, either by ringing bells, blowing whistles or sounding sirens, according to a news release.
The BOC will recognize Sunday as a day of solemn commemoration of the events of Sept. 11, 2001, and a day to come together as a nation.
At their Sept. 1 meeting, the BOC adopted a resolution joining the 'National Moment of Remembrance' of the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
