Why “Drops of Comfort and Care”
The three nonprofits have been working in the community for many years with the goal of supporting vulnerable people through kindness.

According to Amie Burke, founder of KIDS CARE, “The name for the drive came from the motto of Building Strong Horizons: ‘One drop of kindness will make a splash and many drops of kindness will make a wave’. We feel like that sums up what all three of our organizations strive to do through our service projects. Sometimes it might seem like our efforts are just a drop in the bucket, when we see how much need there is in the community. But when you add up all those drops of kindness and service that the community contributes, it builds up momentum creating ripples which turn into waves of compassion reaching people in their times of need. Creating kindness and giving opportunities is the heart of KIDS CARE and we are really looking forward to seeing the community's heart on Aug 12th. As Mrs. Coretta Scott King said, ‘The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.’

While each of the participating nonprofits has their own mission throughout the year, the opportunity to work together for the goal of bringing some happiness to children going through probably the most difficult time in their lives, was one they could not pass up.”
