Howard fired the previous CEO because he was going in many directions and not focusing on the core of the company. Howard himself closed all the stores nationwide for three hours and apologising to his barista's saying the focus was not on the core of what the company originally started from COFFEE. The previous CEO was focusing on Music, DVD, and Books to be sold in the stores which all compliment coffee and tea. Now Howard is going towards fruit juices and Alcohol. This for sure not the core of the company also the barista's underage can't serve alcohol. GOOD job Howard!!! - Mashty
Actually, this is great. There are many times I want the atmosphere of Starbucks but don't necessarily want coffee. It's not a bar scene. I can go, have a glass of wine, and read in a comfortable chair or meet a friend for quiet conversation. Granted, some people need a nice place to go where there is no alcohol. I hope Starbucks offers both business models for this very reason. - Roux

Bad idea. I like hanging at Starbucks and have no desire to be around a bunch of obnoxious drunks. If i did, I'd go to a bar. Wow, I sound old.... - Misti

Bad idea! There are plenty of other places people can go to if they choose to drink. Can we have just a few places that are ok for teens/young people of all ages, please? - Vicki
