a $100,000 partnership with HFH-NCG to build the house located at 5050 Union Hill Road in south Forsyth County.

"Siemens showed up with more than 30 volunteers even though rain was forecast. In fact, it was raining at 8 a.m. when the day kicked off with a brief First Nail Ceremony," said Lamond. "The Lingo family and Siemens were there in full force and put in the first nails."

The home will be like no other Habitat home in the state as it will have a Siemens Microinverter System that will convert the sun’s power into safe, affordable electric power, reducing electric costs.

Due to approaching thunderstorms the day ended early around 11 a.m., but a lot was accomplished in a short amount of time.

"Incredibly, all of the first-floor walls were built, put in place and braced in under three hours," Lamond said.

The house is scheduled to be completed and dedicated to Melonie Lingo and her teenage children, Luke and Madie, on Saturday, April 21.
