$177K, Guns And Drugs Seized At Hiram Man's Home

A Hiram man is facing several charges after being accused of having cocaine, fentanyl, pills, methamphetamine, heroin and five guns.

HIRAM, GA — Cash, guns and multiple drugs were all recently seized at a Hiram home, and a 39-year-old man was arrested in connection with a month-long multi-agency probe, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.

The raid was conducted on Nov. 13 at Darrlin Vernard Warner's Mayfield Court home, authorities said.

The sheriff's office accused Warner of having at least 1 kilogram of fentanyl (37 ounces), 16 ounces of methamphetamine, 46 grams of heroin, 9 grams of cocaine and a large quantity of pills.

Five guns and about $177,000 in cash were seized, authorities said. The money was believed to be proceeds from a suspected illegal drug trade, authorities said.

Warner was arrested and charged on suspicion of trafficking fentanyl, trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking heroin, possession of cocaine and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, authorities said.

He is being held without bond at the Paulding County Jail, authorities said.

“This is a great example of local, state and federal partners working together to identify, investigate and arrest those responsible for putting this poison into our communities," said Steven Sweatt, Northwest Georgia Drug Task Force Commander assistant special agent in charge, in a news release.

"According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, 1 kilogram (35 ounces) of fentanyl has the potential to kill 500,000 people. Getting that amount of poison off our streets makes all the long days worthwhile."
