3 Children Dead, GA Mother Accused Of Stabbing Them In House Fire
A Paulding County judge denied bond for a mother of seven Monday accused of killing three of her children.
PAULDING COUNTY, GA — A mother of seven, who has been accused of killing three of her children during a house fire, was denied bond Monday, according to the Paulding County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators said they responded to a house fire and domestic disturbance a little after 9 p.m. Friday on Woodwind Drive. The mother was inside trying to stab the children while the home was on fire, officials said. A 3-year-old and 9-month-old were found dead. The 5, 9 and 11-year-olds were sent to the hospital, where the 5-year-old later died.
A Paulding County magistrate judge denied Darlene Brister bond on Monday. She's being charged with two counts of malice murder.

Ricky Brister told WAGA-TV that he doesn’t condone his wife’s actions, but he is asking people to have some compassion. He said she battled depression.
"I’m a Christian man and I have Christian values. My message is a message of compassion for everybody. There’s nothing else that’s going to help us get past this," he said.
