- The Boys and Girls Club of Paulding County will close its doors at the end of next month after providing unique programming and affordable after-school care in the area for more than two decades. Late last week, David Jernigan, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta, issued a statement regarding the closure, citing “insufficient resources” as a key factor in the decision. The site's official final day of operation is slated for Sep. 30. (11 Alive)
- The New Georgia Public Library is hosting a Tiny Art Class for teens next Monday, Aug. 8. Participants are encouraged to paint whatever inspires them, and the library will display the finished artwork for several weeks following the event.
