HIRAM, GA — Burlington opened its first location in Hiram on Friday, and already started giving back to the community on its first day.

As part of the company's partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, the Hiram store donated $5,000 to Hiram Elementary School. Burlington has partnered with AdoptAClassroom.org for the last five years, which provides funding to teachers for classroom materials.

Since 96 percent of teachers report paying for school supplies out of their own pocket and spending roughly $750 each year, according to Adopt A Classroom, Burlington "wanted to help offset this burden and support teachers nationwide."
