  2. Axe-throwers of the world unite! Downtown Axe is hosting an axe throwing tournament on Aug. 18 at 7:00 p.m. Winners will receive prizes, but spots are limited. The sign-up fee is $25, and you can scan the QR code at the link to put your name on the competitor list. (Facebook)
  3. Do you think you're funny? Do other people think you're funny? The Dallas Markets are looking for funny guys and gals to do stand-up on Friday.   4. Schools will be reopening on Aug. 1 — do you know the laws for driving around school buses? The Paulding County School District Transportation Department shared an infographic on the law for driving at school bus stops.   5. City Council will be holding its regular meeting next Monday, Aug. 1. The meeting will take place at 5:15 p.m. at city hall. It's located at 129 E Memorial Drive. Issues on the docket include a criminal trespass ordinance amendment, a material testing proposal for phase two of the Battlefield trail, and a filter panel replacement through Evoqua Water Technologies.
