Dallas native Nick Colina leads the charge for the Kennesaw State Owls as they travel to Athens to take on the University of Georgia Bulldogs in the second of four-straight midweek games against Power Five opponents. Colina leads the ASUN in three categories, including triples, OBP, and walks. The Owls will look to continue their winning streak after sweeping Jacksonville last weekend, scoring 37 runs on 42 hits. Despite Georgia leading the all-time series 19-11, Kennesaw State won their last game against the Bulldogs 6-4 in 2021. (KSUOwls)
  2. Douglasville native Megan Danielle, a 20-year-old server, has made it into American Idol's Season 21 Top 10 finalists. On Sunday night's performance episode, the Top 12 contestants performed "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" songs, with home viewers voting live. After more than 22 million votes poured in, Lucy Love and Nutsa were announced as the lowest vote-getters of the night and were eliminated from the competition. The remaining 10 contestants, including Megan, will move on to next week's show. (Reality TV World)
  3. A hit-and-run in Douglas County ended in an assault after the driver of a Toyota Sequoia crashed into a guardrail and flipped over, according to the Georgia State Patrol. After getting out of the Sequoia and getting into a sedan, the driver spotted a witness taking a picture of the sedan and assaulted the witness. All lanes of I-20 East had to be closed for two hours while troopers investigated the crash and Douglas County Deputies handled the assault case. (11Alive)
  4. Two Georgia towns are on the list of the 10 perfect U.S. destinations for summer travel in 2023. Savannah, with its beautiful parks, pristine beaches, and fascinating history, is a must-visit destination.   • Hiram High School: HHS has released important information regarding final exam exemptions in a notice addressed to both seniors and underclassmen. The notice states that there are two different forms for the exam exemptions, one for seniors and one for underclassmen. Students are advised to read the form carefully and submit it by the respective due date, May 10 for seniors and May 15 for underclassmen.
