  1. Paulding County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating following a death at a home on Buchanan Highway on Wednesday afternoon. Officers responded to the scene around 12:16 p.m., where they discovered a 66-year-old deceased male, who has not yet been identified to the public. As of Wednesday afternoon, it was unknown whether the man died as a result of a homicide, suicide, or natural causes. (Paulding County Sheriff’s Office via Facebook)
  2. The Paulding County School district is teaming up with community partners to host a school supply drive tomorrow, Jul. 16. Items most urgently needed include backpacks, binders, composition and spiral notebooks, pencils, and crayons or colored pencils. Donations can be dropped off at the West Ridge Church on Hiram Acworth Highway between 9:00 a.m. and noon. (Pauling County School District via Facebook)
  3. Verizon has announced plans to expand its 5G Ultra Wideband service to more than one million new residents in the Atlanta area, including portions of Hiram. Benefits of the upgraded service will include improved download speeds and a safer alternative to public Wi-Fi, according to the service provider. The upgrade for Atlanta-area residents comes 18 months sooner than originally expected. (Verizon)
  4. Paulding County Animal Control is seeking donations to help replenish its Pet Food Pantry. The shelter's supply of dry cat food is extremely low, and donations can help ensure that pets in Paulding County do not go hungry when their families are struggling.
