According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), millions of pets are taken in each year by rescue organizations nationwide, including dogs, cats, pigs, birds, and even horses. Unfortunately, only about half of all shelter animals are adopted each year, meaning there are still millions of animals waiting for their forever homes, including those in the Dallas-Hiram area.
