Former Paulding Soccer Star Fatally Shot While Working At S.Ga. Bar

The GBI said an altercation led to the shooting that killed the 21-year-old bartender at the Remerton bar.

REMERTON, GA — A 21-year-old bartender who was shot and killed after finishing a shift at a south Georgia bar Sunday was from Paulding County, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Tuesday.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Monday Brianna Long was working around 2:30 a.m. at The Pier Bar in Remerton, where an altercation led to the fatal shooting outside of the bar. The GBI said multiple vehicles had also been shot.

Long was closing down the bar with other staffers at the time. After being shot, she was taken to South Georgia Medical Center, where she later died, the GBI said.
