  1. The much-anticipated remodeling of the Walmart Super Center on Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway in Hiram is finally complete. The remodel includes several department transformations, a new private room for nursing mothers, additional self-checkout lanes, and more. According to a news release from the company, the upgrades are also intended to further help protect associates and customers from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. (West Georgia Neighbor)
  2. The Dallas Public Library will be hosting its next Family Read-Aloud Parent Training on Sep. 13. This training focuses on families with children up to age five, and participants will receive an assortment of books upon completion of the program.   3. Sparkles Hiram is now booking STEM Field Trips for the 2022-2023 school year. This nationally accredited program is offered year-round to students in grades K-12 and is designed to fit into existing curriculums. Tickets are now available for the 5th Annual Paulding Ride for Wishes, which will be held on Oct. 8 at 8:00 a.m. This charity ride will begin at Veteran’s Park and move to the Silver Comet Trail, and accommodations are available for all ages and levels of riders.   5. Helping Hands of Paulding County is partnering with the Atlanta Community Food Bank to host a Free Produce Day next Tuesday, Aug. 16. Adults ages 18 and older are invited to stop by 228 West Spring Street in Dallas between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to collect their free produce. Visitors are asked to bring their own shopping bags.
