  1. Local Realty announced its July 2022 "Hero of the Month." Paulding County Deputy Director Christina Kelly and Cherokee County fireman Leighton Graham were given the prestigious honor for their work in public service. Kelly began as a communications officer for Paulding County E911 in 2004 and has worked in public service ever since. Graham started as a firefighter in 2021 and is in paramedic school.   3. Dallas Native Antonio Gandy-Golden has announced his retirement from the NFL at 24 years old. According to Gandy-Golden, he wants to go back to school to continue his education. Gandy-Golden was recruited by the Washington Commanders from Liberty University as a tight end. Head coach Ron Rivera spoke highly of the player, saying, "I really do believe he has a bright future ahead of him." (USA TODAY)
  4. Do you have a current case in probate and need information? The Paulding County Government is hosting a workshop for the public. Anyone interested can check in between 5:45 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Aug. 30 at the Paulding County Courthouse.   5. The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office recently announced that three of its members are now P.O.S.T. certified Instructors. According to a Facebook post from the Sheriff's Office, Deputy Nathan Geyer, Deputy Jacob Martin, and Sergeant Donny Pace graduated from the 80-hour instructor training program at the North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy earlier this week. The Deputies and Sergeant are now qualified to teach general topics in law enforcement to Paulding County Sheriff's Deputies and Jailers. (Paulding County Sheriff’s Office via Facebook)
