Man Accused In Fatal Dallas Crash Arrested In Multi-Agency Chase

Paulding County authorities said the crash killed one person and injured multiple others Tuesday.

TEMPLE, GA — A 41-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after being accused in a Dallas crash that killed a person and injured multiple people, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.

Authorities said the fatal crash happened around 6:45 a.m. at Mulberry Rock and Cohran roads.

Paulding deputies and Georgia State Patrol troopers spent a "better part of the day" chasing the man, including in the area of Buchanan Highway, authorities said.

Deputies, troopers and the U.S. Marshals Service eventually captured Michael Anthony Morgan Jr. at a Temple home, authorities said.

Morgan was arrested without incident and was taken to a hospital for injuries he suffered from the crash, authorities said. He was later taken to the Paulding County Jail.

Authorities said Morgan was charged on suspicion of homicide by vehicle, hit and run resulting in serious injury or death, serious injury by vehicle, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, failure to maintain lane, driving on suspended license, no proof of insurance and defective tires. He also had multiple warrants from various jurisdictions, authorities said.
