Man Rescued From Burning Dallas House
"This was a genuine team effort to save a life," fire officials said in a statement.
DALLAS — A 46-year-old man was rescued Monday from a Macland Road house fire, the Paulding County Fire/Rescue Department said Tuesday.
Firefighters responded around 2 p.m. to Macland, where they attempted a rescue but was pushed out by heavy smoke and heat, fire officials said.
A little more than a minute later, crews were able to pull the man to safety during a rapid search, fire officials said. He was found in a back hallway, fire officials said.

Life-saving measures were performed, and the man was airlifted to Wellstar Cobb's Burn Unit, fire officials said. The man was in serious condition after suffering severe burns and smoke inhalation, fire officials said.

The American Red Cross is assisting with temporary housing and necessities, fire officials said. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
