- Looking for a fun family event to close out the week? Mark your calendar for the next Movie at the Pool, hosted by the City of Dallas! On Friday, Jul. 22 at 8:30 p.m., the Sara Babb Pool will be screening "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" (PG). Admission is $5 per person, and burgers and hot dogs will be available for purchase. - Family and friends are saying goodbye to Elizabeth Buzby. The Hiram native passed away on Jul. 10 and funeral services will be held on Aug. 18 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. - The industrial sector is booming in and around Atlanta, and very few locations are still available for businesses. According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, there are very few places available for rent to new businesses or ones looking to expand. - A Powder Springs native was selected 157th overall in the MLB draft. Victor Scott II, who played baseball for the West Virginia Mountaineers, was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the fifth round. Scott II batted .278 for the Mountaineers with six home runs and 47 RBIs last Spring. He holds the best single-season stolen base record in West Virginia baseball history at 38.
