- The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office announced two of its deputies graduated on Friday from the Driver Instructor Training Program at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. Sergeant Ashley Henson and Corporal Kevin Dutton graduated from the two-week course that has an average failure rate of 52% due to its intensity and difficulty. Henson and Dutton graduated with only seven fellow officers after beginning the course with 19. (Paulding County Sheriff’s Office via Facebook)
- Walmart is offering free health screenings tomorrow as part of its Walmart Wellness Day. Community members are invited to their local Walmarts – including the Walmart in Dallas, which was the first to have a Walmart Health Center – between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Free services include glucose, cholesterol, BMI, and blood pressure screenings, as well as COVID-19 vaccines and boosters. - The City of Hiram is now accepting sanitation bids for the "FY2022 – City of Hiram Sanitation Service City Project #22-002." The bid window closes on Aug. 4 at 4;30 p.m. More information about the bid project is available here. (City of Hiram)
