• Revolution II midfielder Javaun Mussenden called up to United States Under-19 Men's National Team (revolutionsoccer.net) — A young soccer standout from Dallas midfielder Javaun Mussenden, has earned his first call-up to the U.S. Under-19 Men’s National Team for a January training camp in Arizona. The 18-year-old Revolution II player, a product of New England’s academy system, has already logged professional minutes and was named the club’s 2024-25 Academy Player of the Year.
   

• CASA Paulding to Participate in CASA Awareness Day in Georgia on January 22 (thedallasnewera.com) — CASA Paulding, based in Dallas, is gearing up for CASA Awareness Day on January 22, using red shoes and social media to spotlight kids in foster care. The group is actively recruiting Awareness Ambassadors and new CASA volunteers to support more Paulding County children who are still waiting for an advocate.
   

• Ga Senate panel to back income tax exemption for first $100,000 (northwestgeorgianews.com) — A Georgia Senate panel is backing a plan to exempt the first $100,000 of income for married couples and $50,000 for single filers, which could eventually eliminate the state income tax. Dallas-based Sen. Jason Anavitarte supports the measure, saying it returns money to his constituents, while Democrats warn it could strain funding for services like healthcare, housing, and education.
