Here are the top five stories in Dallas-Hiram today:

  1. The City of Dallas invites the community to a free Annual Night of Worship concert on Friday, Sep. 16 at 6 p.m. Attendees can head to Main Street in downtown Dallas to enjoy the musical stylings of Josh Baldwin from Bethel Music, Vertical Worship, and a special performance by West Ridge Church. Food trucks will also be on site to keep the whole family fed. (City of Dallas, GA via Facebook)
  2. Get your paint (and sip) on with Paulding Rocks! On Thursday, Aug. 18, guests age 21+ are invited to a Paint & Sip Rock Painting event at the Vintage Wine Bar in downtown Dallas. Materials will be provided and registration is free. If you can't make Thursday's event, fear not: Vintage Wine Bar will offer another paint party this Saturday, Aug. 20. 3. The Maude P. Ragsdale Hiram Library has two fun craft kits available for pickup this week! The teen kit, DIY Zen Gardens, is designed for ages 14-18. The family kit, Kitchen Travels - Tuscan Herb Bread, can be enjoyed by all ages (with adult supervision for the little ones, of course). You can stop by during usual operating hours to pick up your kit, available while supplies last. (Maude P. Ragsdale Hiram Library via Facebook)
  4. This week marks the City of Dallas's final Food Truck Friday of the season. You can head over to downtown Main Street between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. to enjoy some of the finest local mobile cuisine. Keep an eye on the city's events calendar to stay up-to-date on all of Dallas' happenings. (City of Dallas, GA)

  • Did you know that you can text 911 in Paulding County? Paulding County E-9-1-1 Communications Center was the first 911 center in the State of Georgia to have this capability.
