Decatur's Earth Day Fest Has Pirate Theme
The big event is Sunday, April 21. here's a cake decorating contest, a parade and the festival that includes music, a T-shirt contest and free electronics recycling.

Decatur will celebrate Earth Day on Sunday, April 21, with all the events happening in Oakhurst.
Things start out with an Earth Day cake decorating contest. You can drop off your cake between 10 and 11 a.m. Sunday at the Oakhurst Community Garden at the Wylde Center at 435 Oakview Road. Decatur's Earth Day has a pirate theme this year, so keep that in mind.
A few more volunteers are needed to help set up this event, so if you'd like to lend a hand, contact Andrea Zoppo at Andrea@Wyldecenter.org. You'd need to arrive about 9:15 a.m. and help for an hour.

The actual Earth Day Festival starts at 12:30 p.m. Sunday with a parade from Harmony Park to the garden at Oakview and South McDonough.
The festival will include vendors, music by the bands Law and Runedog, a T-shirt contest, a scavenger hunt and free recycling of small electronics and battries (but not car batteries). Admission is free.
