DeKalb Hosts 'Amnesty Day' On July 29
On Saturday, July 29, DeKalb residents will be able to get rid of junk, including tires, appliances, etc., for free.

DECATUR, GA -- If you've been wanting to get rid of that old futon in the garage, or even those old bricks next to the shed out back, now's your chance. In the coming weeks, DeKalb is holding an “Amnesty Day,” hosted by the county's Sanitation Division.
DeKalb “Amnesty Day,” is set for Saturday, July 29, from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., at the Seminole Road Landfill, 4203 Clevemont Road, Ellenwood, GA 30294. The event is free to DeKalb residents but requires proof of residency, the county said. (To get notified of more local news like this, click here to sign up for the Decatur Patch. “This event advances CEO Michael Thurmond’s efforts to address one of his most critical priorities of cleaning up the county,” Sanitation Division Deputy Director Tracy Hutchinson said in a news release. “Operation Clean Sweep is remediating blight through beautification and Amnesty Day is an opportunity for residents to help participate in keeping DeKalb County beautiful.”
