Fire risk expected to continue through the week, according to the National Weather Service.

ATLANTA, GA — Very dry conditions will continue at least into the middle of the week, increasing the risk of fires in north and central Georgia, according to the National Weather Service. There's no end to the drought in the forecast, but we'll see much cooler temperatures by next weekend.

The weather service notes that outdoor burning of any kind is strongly discouraged and already banned in most locations.

For most of the week, we'll see high temperatures in the low 70s, under sunny skies.
