Animal Shelter In DeKalb Opens Wednesday
The new 33,440-square-foot animal shelter opens Wednesday, July 26 on 5.3 acres in Chamblee.

CHAMBLEE, GA -- DeKalb County's newest animal shelter will open its doors Wednesday, July 26. The grand opening for the Chamblee facility will begin at 10:30 a.m., the county said.

DeKalb County will host a grand opening for the new animal shelter on Wednesday, July 26, at 10:30 a.m. The new 33,440-square-foot site features a 1,300-square-foot clinic with two rooms for surgery and prep, a lab area, secure pharmacy storage and holding areas for animals, the county said.

DeKalb officials on hand for the event will be CEO Michael Thurmond, members from the Board of Commissioners and Lifeline Animal Project staff members.
The clinic will offer spay-and-neuter services for adopted animals. The address of the shelter is 3280 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd., Chamblee, GA 30341.
