'It's Disgusting': Decatur Mom's Apartment Inundated With Rats: ICYMI

DECATUR, GA -- A Decatur mother has had enough after finding out that her apartment is infested with rats. Ishanike Mays told a local news outlet that she has caught 12 rats and mice in her apartment since April.

“It’s disgusting, and it’s horrifying,” Mays told WSB-TV. “There was nothing in the lease saying that there was going to be rats here.” She said that the rats even were able to get inside her refrigerator. “They ate over $200 worth of food. It’s just unsanitary for me and my children,” Mays said.

She said the incident sickened her and sent her to the hospital.
