One Suspect Arrested In iPhone Robbery: Decatur Police

Decatur police say one of four suspects has been arrested in a June 24 robbery on Swanton Way.

DECATUR, GA -- One of the suspects in an armed robbery that happened last month on Swanton Way has been apprehended, Decatur police said. The suspect, a 14-year-old from Union City, has been identified and charged as being part of the foursome who robbed a man and took his iPhone, backpack and wallet on June 24.

The four suspects got away in a black Dodge Dart with tinted windows. After investigating, Decatur police said the car has also been found. "The vehicle (stolen out of Clayton County) has also been recovered. We anticipate additional arrests in the near future," Decatur police posted recently on the website nextdoor.com. Decatur police recently released a sketch of the drive-by thief who aimed a gun at a man before robbing him. The incident is being investigated by Decatur police, who are sharing updates on the case on nextdoor.com.

The victim, who has not been named, told police that the car turned around and pulled up beside him. "The front passenger got out of the vehicle, pointed a Glock handgun and stated 'give me your iPhone,' police said. The man complied, but the incident wasn't over.

Two backseat passengers then got out of the car and swiped man's wallet and backpack before driving southbound on Swanton Way.
