Suspect In DeKalb Grandfather's Murder Arrested In Indiana

DECATUR, GA — A DeKalb County murder suspect has been arrested in Indianapolis, Indiana. According to the DeKalb sheriff’s office, Michael Ladre Hill, 25, of Stone Mountain was arrested and charged on Wednesday.

Hill was being sought in connection with the shooting death of Timothy Newhouse, 54, earlier this year outside a Memorial Drive food mart. A separate warrant accuses Hill of shooting a woman in the foot at the same location.

Newhouse was a grandfather of eight who witnesses said got into an argument with Hill before he was shot.

Hill is awaiting extradition to Georgia, where he will be held at the DeKalb jail.
