Here are five things to know about the coming week in Decatur and Avondale Estates. For a full list of possibilities, look at the Patch calendar of events.
1. Drink and Draw Decatur. Come to Mellow Mushroom in Decatur for figure drawing with live models in amazing outfits from your favorite comic books and movies. It starts at 8 p.m. Monday. You have to buy your own beer and food but specials run all night. Admission is free.
2. Comic Demetri Martin. The comedian signs and discusses his book "Point Your Face At This" at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Eagle Eye Bookshop. Free admission.

3. Agnes Scott Writers Festival. Cristina García kicks off this this event at 4 p.m. Thursday at Winter Theatre in the Dana Fine Arts Center. Gish Jen appears at 8 p.m. Thursday at Gaines Chapel and Anjail Rashida Ahmad at 1 p.m. Friday at Winter Theatre. Free.
4. Live music and stand-up comedy. At Kavarna, hear The Wonder-Nerds, The Taft and Man Up, Yancey. Comedians are Ilia Dichev, Tommy 'Toast' Russell and Forrest Manis. Starts at 7:45 p.m. Saturday. $5 cover.

5. Public meetings. Avondale Estates Architectural Review Board and Historic Preservation Commission at 7 p.m. Monday. Decatur City Commission at 7:30 p.m. Monday. The Decatur School Board at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Decatur Active Living Board at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
