Woman, 39, Dead After Crashing Into Stalled Tractor-Trailer On I-20: Police
An Atlanta woman crashed her Toyota Camry into a stalled tractor-trailer on Interstate 20 in Douglas County on Sunday, and died on scene.
DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA — A woman died over the weekend after she crashed into a tractor-trailer that was stalled on Interstate 20 in Lithia Springs, shutting down traffic for at least three hours, Cobb County police said.
On Sunday morning, a tractor-trailer had a mechanical issue and came to a stop on I-20 near Riverside Parkway and Thornton Road, police said. Around 9:15 a.m., a 2018 Toyota Camry — driven by Nicholle Knight, 39, of Atlanta — crashed into the back of the big rig.
Knight was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the truck did not require medical attention.

The crash shut down all lanes of I-20 until noon, when one lane reopened. By 1 p.m. Sunday, the lanes were fully cleared.
