- Douglas County deputies are searching for two men who broke into the Fairplay Chevron in Douglasville on Nov. 8 and stole the lottery ticket display. Deputies say the two suspects committed similar thefts in Villa Rica and Carroll County. (Douglas County Sheriff's Office via Twitter)
- According to a Channel 2 Action News investigation, there have been many recent attacks on mail carriers across Georgia to obtain people's personal identities. Surveillance video from a Douglas County Sheriff's Office investigation shows a crew of thieves breaking into a cluster mailbox and taking "whatever they could carry," according to Chuck Catlin with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. - In observance of Thanksgiving, City of Douglasville offices will close at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, and will remain closed through Friday, Nov. 25. The offices will re-open on Monday, Nov. 28. (City of Douglasville via Twitter)
- The family of 29-year-old Kaleshia Lyons has set up a GoFundMe page to cover funeral expenses. According to Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, Lyons was killed by her ex-boyfriend, 34-year-old Harold Dakers, on Nov. 4. Dakers shot himself on Nov. 8 in nearby Lithia Springs while running from deputies leaving their 4-year-old son, Gavin, an orphan. (BET.com)
