  1. "Adulting" can be hard — and the City of Douglasville wants to help local youth best prepare themselves for the transition to college and the workforce. High school students are invited to the "Grown-ish: Adulting 101" event on Monday, Mar. 13 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at Ike Owings Community Center. Attendees are encouraged to "come dressed for success" and bring their resumes. While this event is free, registration is required. (Douglasville Georgia)
  2. The last full moon of winter, sometimes known as the "full worm moon," will be visible in metro Atlanta. The best time to observe this phenomenon in Douglasville is during moonrise — around 6:57 p.m. — on Mar. 6. While not technically a supermoon, the moon will appear larger near the horizon due to the "moon illusion," making it look larger when compared with other objects than when it is high in the sky. (Georgia Patch)
  3. The Douglasville Police Department will be holding its next Community Enrichment Meeting next Thursday, Mar. 9 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. These meetings are designed to help local residents get more involved in programs that better the Douglasville community. If you want to get involved, stop by the Douglasville Public Safety Complex Community Room (2083 Fairburn Road) on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month. (Douglasville Georgia)
  4. Want to dedicate your career to serving the community? The City of Douglasville is currently hiring for multiple positions, including a part-time receptionist and a full-time accounting specialist. Job details and application information can be found on the city website. (City of Douglasville)
  5. Are you proud of your community? Do you want to use your talents to provide a valuable resource to your neighbors? Patch is looking to hire a local curator to take the helm of the Douglasville newsletter. Visit the link for more details on the role and how to apply. (Douglasville Patch)
