Annette Winn Elementary Wins $15,000 Playground Makeover Contest

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA — The playground at Annette Winn Elementary school will soon receive a new look designed to inspire and entertain students. Community member Celine Garcia has been named the grand prize winner of Safety 1st’s $15,000 playground renovation sweepstakes. Garcia chose nearby Annette Winn to receive the valuable playground renovation.

Safety 1st, a company specializing in child safety products, car seats, strollers and baby gear sponsored the contest as part of their #StrollingforaBetterAmerica challenge.

Principal Dr. Sherritta Abell and the entire Annette Winn Elementary family said they are grateful for the donation to renovate the school's playground.

Safety 1st, along with Garcia, presented the check to Dr. Abell Feb. 22. The $15,000 prize, along with the money AWES families have worked to raise over the last few years, will soon transform the playground with new play equipment.
