Another Motorcycle Accident Claims Life Of Douglasville Man In Florida
Seen traveling at "speeds in excess of 90 mph," a Douglasville man died Sunday in Florida after his motorcycle hit a concrete wall.
DOUGLASVILLE — A Douglasville man died early Sunday morning in Florida after the motorcycle he was riding missed a curve and hit a concrete wall.
Multiple news outlets in Florida report that the 23-year-old male motorcyclist was headed east on U.S. Highway 98 in Carrabelle at about 1:30 a.m. when “he failed to negotiate a right curve.” From there, the motorcycle went onto the emergency shoulder before “colliding with the concrete bridge wall,” according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The motorcycle then went airborne, throwing its driver onto the grass. The motorcycle itself burst into flames when it hit the ground.

As of Monday morning, the driver has not yet been publicly identified by investigators.
This marks the third motorcycle fatal motorcycle accident this month involving drivers from Douglasville. On April 19, according to authorities, a Douglasville man rear-ended a Harley-Davidson on Interstate 20, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist. And on Easter morning, another Douglasville man collided with a Villa Rica motorcyclist, resulting in that motorcyclist's death. Both incidents led to vehicular homicide charges against the Douglasville men that authorities say caused the accidents.
