Arrest Made In Murder Committed During Robbery: Douglas Sheriff
Authorities say tips from the community led to the identification and arrest of the accused robber and murderer.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA — Authorities have made an arrest following the murder of Carl Rupnow, according to a release from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. According to the release, Rupnow was killed during an armed robbery in Lithia Springs.
According to the release, it was soon after 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, when Rupnow was running his Community Coffee route at Pete's Store in the 1800 block of Lee Road in Lithia Springs.
On Nov. 14, around 11 p.m., authorities arrested Freddy Pouerie of Lithia Springs at his work in connection with the robbery and murder.

"The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office/Douglasville Police Department Major Case Unit did an exemplary job on rapidly identifying Freddy Pouerie of Lithia Springs as the suspect," the release says.
Pouerie, 32, has pending murder, armed robbery and intimidation charges. He is being held without bond.

The sheriff's office credits members of the community that came forward with information leading to Pouerie's arrest, "and thus making the community that much safer," the release says.
