Around 100 camp participants received complimentary basketball training, swag bags, and sports gear courtesy of the Atlanta Hawks, Adidas, and QuikTrip. - An update has been released regarding a story in the Jul. 27 newsletter: The man who reportedly pulled a weapon on a family, leading to a confrontation with deputies and the SWAT team at a home along Bill Arp Road near Hemp Street in Douglasville, has been identified as Deshawta McClain. After a 30-minute standoff, McClain opened fire on the SWAT team, and deputies returned fire, injuring him. McClain was eventually taken into custody and transported to the hospital for his injuries.
