DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Using a U-Haul truck to ram through a brick wall, thieves took less than a minute to steal several dozen guns early Thursday morning from a Douglasville sporting goods store.

Burglars hit Gable Sporting Goods on Fairburn Road at about 1:30 a.m., according to the Douglasville Police Department. Store manager Rome Smith told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that security video showed “about six guys,” all wearing hoodies and masks, rushing into the store to steal guns after backing a rental truck through its wall.

It took the robbers only 58 seconds to get their guns and escape, Smith said. He estimated two dozen firearms, most of them handguns, were stolen.

“It seems very specific on which counters they were targeting, so I definitely feel like they’ve been in here before," Smith told the Atlanta newspaper. “It was just kind of the perfect storm.”

The U-Haul truck was found later Thursday in Atlanta, but a second white box truck involved in the heist has yet to be found, said Major JR Davidson of the Douglasville Police Department.
