Car Fire Shuts Down Lithia Springs Traffic As Firemen Battle It
A car fire shut down traffic in LIthia Springs Tuesday as firefighters battled the blaze.
DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA – Douglas County Firefighters, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and a Georgia Department of Transportation representatives were all on the scene of a vehicle fire Tuesday afternoon that brought traffic to a halt. Firefighters were called to the scene of a vehicle fire around 1 p.m. on Monier Avenue between Lee Road and Mt. Vernon Rd in Lithia Springs, Ga.
East bound and west bound lanes of Monier Ave were closed to traffic as firefighters extinguished the fire. The driver of the vehicle escaped injury and was not hurt. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, but it appears the fire started from underneath the hood.
The roadway was opened shortly after 2 p.m. to traffic.
