- With temperatures dropping to freezing levels over the holiday weekend, First United Methodist Church has turned itself into a warming station. The overnight station will be available until Sunday. Hours are 6:00 p.m. through 10:00 a.m. Families are welcome. (Douglas County District Attorney's Office via Facebook)
- Cobb and Douglas Public Health officials have announced that we have returned to a medium COVID spread. Numbers for Douglas and Cobb counties have risen significantly. Due to these numbers, the federal government has reactivated the four free rapid COVID home tests offer. Tests can be ordered at the government website. (Press Release Desk )
- On Jan. 16, your kids can start learning the fun of sewing! This class will offer the basics on hand sewing, from threading a needle all the way to measuring the seam allowance for a garment. Learn how to make more than clothes! No experience is necessary to get involved. (Patch)
- In search of some fun plans for January? Douglasville Calendar has rounded up the latest happenings in and around town. On Jan. 7, Home Depot will be hosting Bring One For The Chipper at Douglasville Boulevard. Base To Base Sports will also hold Base To Base Baseball Camp at Hunter Park on Jan. 19. - The Douglasville Police Department received 60 goody bags and 2023 calendars from the Jones-Wynn Funeral Homes & Crematory. They also provided snacks to the hardworking officers.
